Lot valley, Aubrac and Truyère
Circuit in the north Aveyron, you will start your trip with the famous Trou de Bozouls; a unique geographical site where its houses cling to the rock cliffs.
Climbing back up you follow the Lot and its listed villages; Espalion, Saint Côme d’Olt* with its twisted spire and Sainte Eulalie d’Olt* with its lauze covered roofs and the banks of the Olt* where it's good to relax (Olt = Lot in patois).
Higher towards the north you will drive through the village of Aubrac and stop at Laguiole famous for its knives and well known for its cheese.
Continuing over the high plateaux where you will reach Sarrans lake and discover an exceptional view, christened the Pont Sublime (Sublime Bridge), not far from Sainte Geneviève-sur-Argence.
Heading south through the Gorges de la Truyère, you will reach the village of Estaing* and its magnificent château which is now the property of a famous former French president.
Lastly, finish your four day discovery with a treasure: the village of Conques*, its unique tympanum classed by UNESCO as world heritage as well as the fantastic collection of gold and jewellery left by Saint-Jacques pilgrims.
